The Fabric of Peace
The Fabric of Peace, sponsored by the Regional Center for Women in the Arts, will be on display at Westminster through January 22. The Fabric of Peace project began in 2008 with a call to artists to paint, embroider, or collage works addressing the theme on a 10-inch fabric square. The quilt was put together by a dedicated group of local artists who arranged and sewed 110 separate images of peace created by artists from around the United States and abroad. It is a powerful statement by women, highlighting our shared interest in promoting peace in the world. The goals of this project are to bring women together to promote peaceful solutions to conflict and to use the arts as a means of uniting cultures.
