Small Groups

As a large congregation, we believe small groups help people develop deeper connections with God and one another.  Westminster small groups fall into these main categories:  learning, serving, supporting and discovering.

 

Learning groups with a strong educational component

  • Disciple Bible Study
  • Companions in Christ series

Serving groups with an emphasis on mission and outreach

  • Phix-It Corps
  • Saturday Morning Breakfast
  • Dining & Donations
  • Mission teams to Guatemala, New Orleans, or elsewhere
  • Close Knit
  • Westminster Choir
  • Reverberations Hand Bell Choir

Supporting groups

  • Share and Prayer
  • Women of Westminster circles
  • Covenant Prayer (which does not meet together, but all pray from the same list)

Discovering groups

  • Youth - 180◦ Turning the Tables
  • Volleyball
  • Hiking Group

Members frequently form new groups around specific topics as the needs arise - topics such as caring for aging parents, supporting loved ones with mental illness, parenting teenagers, divorce recovery.

Westminster also hosts outside groups which are open to our members

  • NA (Narcotics Anonymous)
  • Mental Health Support Groups
  • PFLAG (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays)
