What to Expect
Westminster is a warm and inviting church that is easy to visit. We are a welcoming family of faith open to all people and new ideas. If you are looking for a spiritual home where your faith can grow - through worship, education, service and fellowship - we invite you to join us.
On Sunday mornings we offer two opportunities for worship. During the academic year, our services are at 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. The first service is a traditional Presbyterian service that includes a full choir and organ. The second service features creative liturgy, new songs and old hymns accompanied by piano, organ and other instruments. Each service includes a sermon in which one of our pastors relates Scripture to life in the 21st Century. Children are welcome at both services and worship bags are available each Sunday. However there is a nursery for infants and exciting activities for young children. Please see For Children to learn about Godly Care and Godly Play, two programs our young children enjoy during the 9:00 a.m. worship service.
During the summer months (Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend), our Sunday worship times change. We hold an 8:15 a.m. service in our chapel that includes the celebration of the Lord's Supper each week. All are welcome at Christ's table. The second service is at 10:00 a.m. in the sanctuary. Following this service, worshipers gather on the church lawn for fellowship and iced tea.
During the academic year, we offer an education hour between the two morning worship services. To discover more about classes and programs for our young people, go to For Children or For Youth and to learn more about the variety of classes for adults, go to For Adults. In addition, enjoy fellowship, free coffee and tea in the Holy Toast Café, located in Community Hall, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.. Simple breakfast treats may be purchased for one dollar.
