SUNSHINE CHOIR (grades 1-2) Tuesdays, 4:30 - 5:10, September - March

The Sunshine Choir(grades 1 & 2) is the first step in our graded choir program.  The choir meets once a week on Tuesday evenings and participates in worship every four – six weeks.  Along with the Chapel Choir, the Sunshine Choir participates in gathering time on Sunday mornings as part of our Sunday School experience.

With fun and praise the primary objective of this choir, the children enjoy singing, moving, playing musical instruments and getting to know one another at every rehearsal.  Musically, the children spend time discovering their singing voice, increasing their vocal range, learning to read notes and following a director.  In addition, the children are introduced to our faith heritage through the use of the hymnal and the singing of hymns.

For many children, the Sunshine Choir is their first opportunity to express their faith through song in a choral setting.  This opportunity provides the foundation for future worship leadership through congregational singing and adult choir participation.  For many it is also their first experience with the discipline of music.  Children are encouraged to attend rehearsals regularly and to honor God by offering their best effort.  Above all else, the Sunshine Choir is greeted each week into a loving and caring environment where each child is cherished as a child of God.
