RESOURCES ABOUT CHILDREN IN WORSHIP SERVICES:

Dr. Kit Schooley talks about why it is worth the effort to include children in worship. This is a sermon he preached at Westminster on Sunday, July 2, 2006, at a time when Westminster was about to change its Sunday worship schedule in a way that encourages parents to bring their children into worship, which will add distractions to our services, but for a worthwhile goal: to make worship part of these children's lives for a lifetime to come.

Why should children be in worship on Sunday Morning? Susan Moseley, Christian Educator, wrote this article for the April 26, 2006, issue of The Chimes when it first became clear that our new fall schedule would allow (and should encourage) children to attend worship with their parents.

Worship that is Friendly to Children — Part I. This resource, written by Carolyn Brown for the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship, looks at the nature of intergenerational worship.
